The Galapagos Islands are a natural wonderland of fascinating wildlife and dynamic volcanic formations.  Although there are 13 major islands in the archipelago, only four are inhabited by humans and only three have proper hotel accommodations.

Most visitors choose a boat cruise to visit sites that are otherwise unreachable and that offer more variety and quantity of wildlife.  Boats range in size from 12-passenger yachts to 100-passenger cruise ships.  If you choose a larger boat, your excursions will still be small-group: no more than 16 passengers and one guide.  We tend to recommend larger boats to families, those prone to seasickness, and those who like more personal space and room to roam around.

Boats depart every day of the week, and tours are four-, five-, six-, eight- and 15 days in length.  Five-day cruises are sufficient for most travelers, but consider eight or fifteen if you're really into wildlife or have "always dreamed of visiting the Galapagos".

Prices vary widely.  To avoid problems and complaints, we do not work with second or third class boats, so the boats listed below range from "tourist-class" to "superior-tourist" to "luxury":
